Life’s Little Luxuries

I read a handful of blogs, I adore them and I particularly love when they share information about themselves and what they love doing. I find that reading about what they enjoy encourages me to add little luxuries to my life that I might not have thought of.

So what do I love doing?

  • Curling up on my sofa, wrapped up in a blanket and reading a book
  • Listening to music (I have varied taste so one week it can be listening to dance music (kiss fm) then next week it can be classical music (that’s what’s on as I’m writing now).
  • Making peppermint tea in a teapot (it’s so quaint, I love it, it makes me feel like a lady, like my Granny)
  • Feeling the sun on my skin (in England it always feels like a luxury)
  • Catching up and having coffee with my friends and family (whether that’s face to face or over skype)
  • Watching a movie
  • Cuddling
  • Wearing anything soft and silky
  • De-cluttering (ahhh the feeling of space, I love that)

I hope some of these things have got you thinking about what you love doing and inspired you to include them in your day… Please feel welcome to post what you love doing below, I’d love to know :)

  1. I have been trying to do more things like this recently…I even managed to do some de-cluttering as well!

I love riding my bike, rain or shine but mostly shine :) x

    • Wonderful :)

I love a good old declutter!! I haven’t ridden a bike since I was 14, but as you love it – it’s great that you get to ride it lots :)

  2. What a lovely inspiring post Fiona. I love curling up on the lounge or in bed with a book too. I also make a morning ritual out of my pot of tea. Always a pot with chocolate chai or earl grey tea leaves, served in my grandmother-in-law’s delicate bone china cup and saucer, and with some dark chocolate. I also love going for a really long, relaxed walk (especially in the sunshine). And having the luxury of time to sit down and write a blog post. I really like your idea of sharing a cup of tea or coffee over a skype session. My sister is overseas at the moment, so next time we skype I will grab a cuppa! Thanks again, Kim.

    • Oh Kim, Chocolate Chai! That sounds incredible!!! I may very well have to investigate and purchase some – that sounds delicious!

Definitely make time for a tea or coffee whilst you skype :) it makes it all the more luxurious,x

  3. Your list just reminds me of how many interesting things one can do in any single day. There is so much that I wished I could do that each day goes by so quickly.
Btw, how did it go about emptying your drawers? Did you finish the last one? ;)

    • Hiya, I totally understand that’s why I only try to include one little luxury a day and savour it as best I can :) Yes thank you I did finish the last drawer – now I’ve just got to figure out how to move it to it’s new home :)

      • I am glad to hear both news. For one, I totally agree it’s better to do less and enjoy it plentifully than do lots of things in a hurry. For two, it’s a great advancement you made by finishing the last drawer! :) I know you will soon get what you wanted: a minimalist arrangement, where you only have that that you really need. Keep on!
